Tampa, FL – Trenam Law is pleased to announce that shareholder Brigid Merenda has been named the New Tampa Family YMCA Volunteer of the Year for her work as a youth basketball coach. At the New Tampa Y in Tampa Palms, Merenda uses her skills and experience as a college basketball player for the University of South Florida (1993-97) to teach the next generation of basketball.
Founded in 1851, the YMCA is the largest and oldest service organization in America, serving 17 million members in 120 countries. In Tampa Bay alone, the organization reaches more than 160,000 individuals each year through membership, programs, and outreach activities in the community.
Merenda is an experienced trial lawyer, Brigid has handled cases for clients in diverse areas including complex litigation, heath care and medical staff privileges litigation, shareholder disputes, and employment law, including non-compete, trade secrets, and Title VII matters. She has also represented limited liability companies (LLCs) and corporations in general business litigation matters, assisted clients in investigations and civil enforcement proceedings brought by the SEC and the FTC, and has counseled clients in arbitration proceedings generally and those conducted before the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Merenda received a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University and B.A., summa cum laude, from University of South Florida. She is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite.
