ERIN SMITH AEBEL APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE
USF FINANCE CORPORATION & USF PROPERTY CORPORATION

August 24, 2021 – Tampa, FL – Trenam Law is pleased to announce shareholder Erin Smith Aebel has been appointed to serve on USF Finance Corporation & USF Property Corporation Board of Directors.
The USF Financing Corporation, a direct-support organization (DSO), is the University’s financing arm and is expected to provide attractive long-term financing for the University’s major capital projects. The USF Property Corporation is a separate, legal entity and acts in tandem with the USF Financing Corporation for lease purchase financing transactions. The sole member of the USF Property Corporation is the USF Financing Corporation.
Widely recognized in the health care industry, Aebel is a board certified health law specialist by the Florida Bar and she is the 2016 Lexology Client Choice Award Winner, nominated by clients and awarded for excellent client service in health law in the state of Florida.
Physicians, hospitals, physician group practices, diagnostic imaging centers, pharmacies, clinical laboratories, medical spas, concierge medical practices, and other health care providers in business law look to Aebel for representation in a wide range of matters. Her more than 20 years of experience, paired with her desire to help people, has enabled Aebel to successfully represent clients in a wide range of matters, including Stark law, fraud and abuse, acquisitions and changes of ownership, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and licensure issues arising from joint ventures. She regularly prepares and negotiates hospital related agreements, physician employment agreements, medical director agreements, and licensure and scope of practice issues. Additionally, Aebel advises on a variety of Florida health law issues including the developing cannabis law.
With a passion to share knowledge, Aebel frequently speaks throughout the country and writes on health care topics. She has been published by the American Health Lawyers Association.
Aebel received a J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University School of Law and a B.S, magna cum laude, from Loyola University. She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and is recognized in Best Lawyers in America, and Florida Super Lawyers.
