Erin Smith Aebel was quoted in a December 13, 2021 article exploring the practical and legal considerations for physicians when an employee of the physician office seeks medical advice from them.
Dubbed by the author as “curbside treatment” of employees, Aebel discussed the communications obstacles that can arise when discussing medical issues with a physician colleague, saying the encounter could be awkward and thereby unsuccessful. “The employee may not want to tell you everything you need to know for proper diagnosis,” she said.
