A major overhaul of Florida’s corporation laws is moving forward, thanks to the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar.
Gary Teblum, Shareholder in Trenam’s Business Transactions Practice Group, served as Co-Chair of The Florida Bar’s Business Law Section Subcommittee that worked on rewriting the statutes. The proposed updates were compiled into a 400-plus page bill, now known as SB 892. After SB 892 was presented on March 25 at the Senate Judiciary Committee meeting, Teblum commented: “We felt it was time to do a comprehensive amendment to the Florida corporation statutes, to bring it up to date and remain competitive with other states.”
