Vento presented on Difference between Private and Public Construction Projects and Prompt Pay Acts and Hutt presented on Chapter 558, Florida Statutes during the 3-day program.
Vento, a member of the firm’s Construction Law and Government Contracting Group, was named Construction Litigation Lawyer of the Year 2014 in Tampa by Best Lawyers in America and is in the top 100 in Florida and top 50 in Tampa Bay in Super Lawyers for construction law. Vento is Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Court Mediator. He has also been certified as a Mediator by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. John has been an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association since 1982 and serves on the Complex Case and Construction Panels. Vento has experience in the areas of Qui Tam/Whistleblower claims, federal government contracting, private, public and federal construction contracting, private, public and federal construction disputes, international law, arbitration and mediation, and medical health care fraud. Vento received a B.A., cum laude, from University of Pittsburgh; J.D., cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law; LL.M., International Law, University of Michigan Law School; and National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow from Yale Law School.
Hutt is a member of the firm’s Construction Law and Government Contracting Group and Commercial Litigation practice area. He is Florida Board Certified in Construction Law. He has represented owner and contractors in multi-million dollar cases involving claims of professional malpractice and delay on large-scale mixed use projects; construction defect and payment claims involving a 42-story luxury hi-rise condominium; and has represented contractors in governmental bid protests. Hutt is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite. Additionally, he is ranked by Chambers USA in Construction Law.
