Overview

Amanda Newlon is an associate in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group and focuses her practice primarily on health care regulation and compliance.

Amanda worked extensively in health care regulation and compliance, along with medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. She has conducted health care compliance and regulation research and prepared opinion letters providing legal advice to a large hospital chain regarding a variety of issues, including retention of medical records, medical staff governance, and compliance with federal and state regulations. In addition to her work in compliance and regulation, she is well-versed in medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. In litigation cases, her responsibilities have included extensive review of medical records, client reporting, and client representation at hearings and depositions.

In addition to Amanda’s practical work experience, she also has a strong educational background, which has helped shape her research, writing, and presentation skills. While at Florida State, she received a number of scholarships and academic awards, including book awards for top grades in her Evidence, Criminal Litigation, and Closely Held Business Organizations courses. Amanda graduated magna cum laude in the top three percent of her class. She was a member of the Mock Trial Team, a research assistant specializing in Federal Constitutional law, a clerk for Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and served on the executive board of the Mock Trial Team and several other student organizations.
