Overview

Waheeda Ghani is an associate in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group.  Waheeda concentrates her practice in potential tax exposure in connection with private equity and corporate acquisitions and how to mitigate the identified risks.

Prior to joining Trenam Waheeda worked for the Office of the Chief General Counsel to the IRS, Dept. of Treasury where she worked on substantive and procedural federal tax questions such as: tax liability challenges, asset seizure, tax implications on bankruptcy, and collections due process.

Earlier in her career Waheeda was an associate in the M&A tax group at Ernst & Young.  Her experience there included counseling private equity funds and major corporations on a wide range of US federal tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions for strategic and financial buyers and seller, with a focus on general corporate, partnership and international tax issues.  Additionally, Waheeda reviewed merger agreements, sale-purchase agreement, partnership agreement, and other legal documents to properly address issues identified in diligence.
