The Tampa Bay Business Journal highlighted the arrival of shareholders Erin Smith Aebel and Kathleen Bickelhaupt and associate Amanda Newlon to Trenam’s healthcare practice on October 16, 2020. In discussing the team’s decision to join the firm’s Tampa office, Aebel told the publication Trenam was a great fit for the group because of the firm’s ability to effectively serve businesses across the state and its strong culture for women in leadership.
“They have the ability to service clients all over Florida,” Aebel said. “The clients I have are individuals and small to mid-sized businesses, and I know they will be well taken care of at Trenam.”
Aebel also cited Trenam president and managing shareholder as a draw for the group to join. “The fact that Trenam is led by a woman and has women in various levels of leadership, that is important to us,” Aebel said.
Tomassi also shared her perspective in the story, saying the firm has been interested in increasing its healthcare law practice. “There are a ton of health care lawyers in the Tampa Bay area, and you want the right fit in terms of what those people want to do at their practice, and culturally and personality wise – things have to come together,” she said. The arrival of Aebel, Bickelhaupt and Newlon will bolster the firm’s healthcare practice and build upon the firm’s existing legal services in the space.
“We thought it was a good fit and a good opportunity at the right time,” Tomassi said. “Sometimes things just come together.”
