TAMPA, FL – Trenam Law is pleased to announce that Carl T. Berry has achieved board certification in tax law from The Florida Bar. Board certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the area of law approved for certification. The attorney must have five years in law practice experience, must show involvement in the field of law for which certification is sought, receive a passing grade on the required examination, and must satisfy a peer review assessment of their competence in the specialty field plus character, ethics and professionalism in the practice of law.
Berry, a shareholder in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group, focuses his practice in tax, executive compensation, and employee benefits law. Berry also has significant experience with corporate legal work, including with respect to mergers and acquisitions, preparation of complex limited liability company and partnership agreements, private equity fund formation, and credit transactions.
Berry received a J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School and B.A., summa cum laude, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
