Harold “Hal” W. Mullis was elected by the University of South Florida Board of Trustees as its new chair.
Mullis has been vice chair since 2010 and will immediately serve a two-year term, according to a statement. Mullis replaces John Ramil, who served four years as board chair and will continue to serve on the board.
The Board of Trustees is composed of 13 members. Six of the members are appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida and five are appointed by the Board of Governors. The other two members are elected representative of the university of Florida System Student Advisory Council and the President of the University of South Florida System Faculty Council.
